HUMBOLDT – Goodbye rain, hello frost. Humboldt County is going to enjoy some sunshine over the next several days, but it’s also going to be chilly willy at night, with the National Weather Service issuing a “freeze watch” for late Friday through Saturday morning.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the 20s and 30s throughout the county, with Arcata getting down to about 32 degree after 10 p.m. today. Patchy frost is expected Saturday morning before 10 p.m.
Skies will be sunny during the day Saturday and clear Saturday night, when temperatures will again be freezing.

Sunday will also be sunny, with a high of 52.
Monday is forecast to be partly sunny, with more clouds rolling in. This will warm things up just a bit, with a Monday high of 54 and a Monday night low of 38. By Tuesday, the rain may return.

On Wednesday, winter officially begins with a slight chance of showers.
