HUMBOLDT – The National Weather Service is forecasting rain on and off through the end of the work week.
Rain was expected to diminish early this morning, then return later this morning. It will taper off tonight, with a wave of wetness returning on Friday and partially into Saturday, with the weekend to be mostly sunny.
The NWS measured .54 of an inch of rain at Woodley Island in Eureka yesterday, close to the Mad River Union’s Manila pluviameter, which measured .51 of an inch. As of the end of yesterday, the total rainfall for this weather season, which began July 1, was at 6.41 inches. Normal is 23.17. Last year was 23.40.
Between midnight and 8:20 a.m. this morning, the Union gauge in Manila measured .08 of an inch of rain.
The sun sets tonight at 5:30 p.m. today, with the sunrise Friday at 7:28 a.m., one minute earlier than today.
