ARCATA – The Mad River Union has received a second letter from Deborah Drooz, Esq., attorney for Humboldt State University Vice President Craig Wruck and his wife, Elizabeth.

The latest letter, dated Aug. 6, is a flattened pdf document scanned at a slight angle from the original (see below).

The new letter attempts to correct a "serious inaccuracy" in a news story about Drooz's first letter by stating that that letter did not "push back" against statements made by KHSU Office Manager Lorna Bryant in a public document.

"It demands that you retract the false statements and implications in the Mad River Union's July 24th article," states the new letter from Drooz. "The correction demand is a legal prerequisite to a claim for punitive and other damages against a newspaper."

The latest letter also reveals that "a separate request, on separate grounds, was sent to Ms. Bryant."

Bryant declined comment on the matter, and the contents of any letter she received from Drooz are not yet public.
