On August 24, 2021, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors awarded a $404,601 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program for Coronavirus grant through the Department of Health & Human Services to Cooperation Humboldt’s street outreach project.
The purpose of this project is to get to know community members who live and work in the neighborhood in order to better understand the day-to-day circumstances or challenges that people face in Valley West and to find ways to support residents based on their feedback.
Cooperation Humboldt and Centro del Pueblo recently began stewardship of the Community Garden. They are now caring for the wonderful native plants, fruit trees, herbs and perennials that Open Door Community Health Centers planted during the years that they tended the garden.

Compost is important, so a compost business is in the works.

Since early March, our member organizations have been delivering supplies and running errands for our high-risk neighbors, making and distributing DIY cleaning products and masks, ensuring community service organizations are stocked with food and other necessities, and helping one another to continue defending and supporting the people of Humboldt County.
