ARCATA PLAZA – Historic Jacoby's Storehouse has been plunged into darkness by a construction mishap. Electricity to the building was cut after a line was interrupted at a nearby work site.

Word is that power will be restored in a matter of hours.

Co-owner Bill Chino has already been asked for lost revenue by one merchant-tenant. He said he anticipates some legal action to obtain compensation for the losses of the many businesses who are closed for the rest of the day until Thursday morning.
