HUMBOLDT – Nearly half an inch of rain was measured yesterday and more is on the way, with the National Weather Service forecasting precipitation through Sunday.
The NWS measured .45 inches of rain at Woodley Island in Eureka on Wednesday, bringing the total to 5.28 inches since the weather season started on July 1. Last year at the same time the island received 3.23 inches of rain. Normal is 2.34 inches.
The forecast calls for rain today through Friday morning. There may be a lull in the storm Friday afternoon, with rain returning Friday night after 11 p.m.
Showers are predicted on Saturday, with the possibility of thunderstorms and small hail after 11 a.m. It may be breezy, with winds at 21 to 25 mph and gusts as high as 36 mph.
