Partly Sunny Super Bowl Sunday; CHP To Be Out In Force

HUMBOLDT – Super Bowl Sunday looks to be partly sunny, with only a slight chance of rain in the evening.

The Seattle Seahawks take on the Denver Broncos starting at 3:30 p.m. with the game televised on the local FOX affiliate. Football fans will be braving temperatures hovering at just above freezing at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In Humboldt, the high is expected to be 51 degrees today

Party goers are being warned by the local California Highway Patrol office to not drink and drive.

“Before and after the game, we will be out in full force with the mission of making sure everyone makes in home safe,” said CHP Humboldt Area Commander Captain Adam Jager in a press release. “Be sure to plan ahead and designate a sober driver before the game begins.”

There is a 20 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. on Monday. The National Weather Service is forecasting the day to be partly sunny.

Tuesday is forecast to be mostly sunny, with fog rolling in at night.

Wednesday is the next chance of rain, with partly sunny skies and a 20 percent chance of precipitation.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to be partly sunny, with clouds at night.

Rain is likely on Friday, according to the NWS.
