McKinleyville Matters: Pony Express Days is coming up, and you can have a booth!

Pony Express Days in McKinleyville is coming up May 29 to June 2., and the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce is still taking applications for the outdoor chili cook off and parade participants as well as vendors for the festival.

The chili cook off will be on Thursday, May 30 in the McKinleyville Shopping Center. All cooking will be done on-site beginning at noon with the door opening to the public at 5:30 p.m. So if you think you have the best chili recipe, sign up to participate.

Thanks to the many sponsors this year, entry for the Pony Express Parade on Saturday, June 1, is free again this year! The parade will follow the usual route along Central Avenue and begin at 11 a.m. sharp starting with a Coast Guard helicopter flyover.

There is still space available for food, craft and informational booths during the Pony Express Festival from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

You can find more information on Pony Express festivities and all of the registration forms on the Chamber’s website at
