McKinleyville High School’s Homecoming week started Monday and continues through the week, with the biggest day being Friday, Oct. 5.
You may have noticed kids in town all dressed up differently each day. The theme Monday was Good Morning America. Tuesday was Netflix and Pajama Day. Today, Oct. 3 is Fashion Disaster. Thursday is Jersey Day and Friday is Panther Spirit Day.
The school holds a rally at 10:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a parade at noon. The parade begins at McKinleyville High, heads east on Murray Road, south of Central Avenue, west on School Road, north on Washington Avenue and returns to the campus via McKinleyville Avenue.
This years theme is “Panther Productions: Flipping Through the Channels.” Look for television characters from your favorite shows.
On Friday night, McKinleyville High takes on the Hoopa High football team with a Junior Varsity playing at 5 p.m. and Varsity playing at 7:30 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
During halftime the homecoming royalty will be announced followed by the fireworks show. The Homecoming Dance takes place from 9 p.m. to midnight.
