MANILA – Having agreed in principle to transferring management of the Manila Family Resource Center to Redwood Coast Montessori, the Manila Community Services District Board of Directors is now mulling over the nitty-gritty details of the proposal.

The board is scheduled to get an update on the management change at its meeting Thursday, July 16. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Manila Community Center, 1611 Peninsula Drive.

For some background on this issue, you can read "Manila wraps up community center visioning battle."

A draft transfer agreement is available in the board packet: ManilaPacket for July 16 2015 .See page 13.
Under the draft agreement, the Manila CSD would hand over management of the resource  center to the school, which leases classroom space at the Manila Community Center. The Manila CSD would no longer have any oversight or control over the program.

The school would be required to form a family resource center advisory committee, which would meet at least twice a year and report “any conclusions or findings” to both the school and the Manila CSD board.

The board will also consider a resolution that would limit the watering of ornamental gardens and turf to Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Another notable item in the meeting board packet: The Manila CSD received a notice of possible building code vioaltions at the school. The letter and the alleged violations are posted below.
