Manila board to discuss ‘visioning,’ pedestrian improvements

MANILA – A “vision” for the future of the Manila Community Center and a proposal to make pedestrian improvements in the salty outpost will be discussed Thursday, May 21 by the Manila Community Services District Board of Directors. The board meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Manila Community Center, 1611 Peninsula Drive.

facebookbadgeforwebThe board will receive a report from its ad hoc Manila Community Center Visioning Committee regarding the results of two recent workshops in which public input was sought on the future of the center. The board may vote on the recommendations. As of this morning, the board packet with background on this issue was not posted on the district’s website.

The board will also consider a letter of support for the California Department of Transportation’s grant application to make pedestrian improvements in Manila.

The board is scheduled to receive a draft of the budget for the coming fiscal year, will discuss water conservation and may consider a policy on responding to letter submitted to the district.
