Help Trails By Running In The Jammie Jam

ARCATA – When you roll out of bed Sunday morning, April 27, there’s no reason to change into street clothes, or even take a shower. Just put on your running shoes and head on over to the Jammie Jog, which begins at 9 a.m. at the Greenway Building, at the corner of Eighth and N streets in Arcata.

The 5K run/walk and one-mile jog/walk are a benefit for the Humboldt Trails Council and the proposed Bay Trail.

“Wear your best onesie and bunny slippers for a stroll through the Arcata Bottom,” stated a press release from organizers.

The event will include prizes for the best jammie costumes and best race times. There will also be entertainment along the race route, which snakes through the Arcata Bottom and then ends at Los Bagels at 1061 I St., Arcata.

The end of the race will feature a PJ Party  with music, breakfast and a Political Pillow Phight featuring local politicians. The party continues until 11:30 a.m.

Registration for the one-mile walk/jog is $15 for adults, and $5 for children 12 and under. Registration for the 5K is $25 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.

With your registration you also receive a breakfast and snack, membership in the Humboldt Trails Council and a window decal sticker.

Registration information is available at humboldttrails.org. Late registration will take place at the Jogg’n Shoppe, 1090 G St. Arcata, on Saturday, April 26 from noon to 4 p.m.
