HSU – Join the faculty of the Humboldt State University Music Department as they return to the Fulkerson Recital Hall stage for their first-ever Livestream Faculty Artist Concert, accessible any place you have a device and internet access, on Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m.
Visit youtu.be/JfNfq4yjiXo to access the concert.
This Faculty Artist Series concert will include some of the region's most popular and talented classical musicians, who also happen to be HSU music faculty.
Violinist and Department Chair Cindy Moyer is happy to share her enthusiasm for a return to local chamber music making. “After all the challenges and shut-downs associated with COVID,” she says, “I think I can speak for all my colleagues when I say how excited we all are that vaccines are making it possible for us to make music with each other again, even if we’ve not yet gotten to the point where we can have a live audience.”
The Music Faculty are delighted to be able to provide this livestream concert free of charge. In non-Covid times, in-person ticket sales for this concert would have been used to fund student scholarships. You may contribute to the scholarship fund at alumni.humboldt.edu/giving/music.
Viewers should expect popular standard repertoire by Mozart and Beethoven interspersed with accessible, fresh sounds from several 20th and 21st century composers.
